The days before state were those of interest. The New Plymouth Softball team played a series of games against Melba. Three games were fought and tragically lost and our second place rank was cemented. The team of girls headed to Pocatello, Idaho in hopes to take the state champion title for 2017-2018. The first team the girls played against was Malad and won with a score of ten to zero. The next game was between Declo which was won 13 to one. Then fought against the Melba Mustangs twice. Our first victory brought us to semifinals at a score of 18 to four. The second victory won us the championship game for the third year in a row! The team was accompanied home by the fire department, the police department, and an ambulance as well as  over half of the town of New Plymouth! As the girls exited the bus, “We Are The Champions” by Queen played for all the world to hear.
